Before you buy — check your phone

LDAC and aptX Lossless are Android codecs. On an iPhone you will not get either — the H3 falls back to AAC. It still sounds excellent, but you'd be paying for capability iOS can't reach. If you're on iPhone, message us and we'll point you to better value.

aptX Lossless additionally needs a phone with Qualcomm Snapdragon Sound. A Snapdragon processor on its own isn't enough — the phone maker has to license it, and most don't say either way. LDAC works on most modern Android handsets regardless.

We'd rather tell you now than have you send them back.

Three reasons people choose this one

• Qualcomm QCC3091 on the Snapdragon S3 Gen 3 platform. Dual certified — Hi-Res Audio Wireless and Qualcomm Snapdragon Sound. Supports LDAC at 24-bit / 96kHz and aptX Lossless. Most earbuds support one high-res codec. These do both.
• Triple-driver acoustic architecture. One custom 12mm high-polymer diaphragm dynamic driver for low and mid-low frequencies, plus two balanced armature units for mid-highs and treble — the arrangement you normally find in wired in-ear monitors. Precisely tuned crossover points keep the handover between them clean.
• 55dB adaptive ANC across a 4000Hz range. SoundPEATS measures this as taking an 85dB environment — a train platform — down to under 30dB at the ear, reducing up to 99.8% of ambient noise. Four modes in the app: Indoor, Outdoor, Transport and Adaptive.

Battery — the honest breakdown

7 hours per charge, 37 hours with the case, 10 minutes for 2 hours of play. But that headline figure depends on which codec you're using, and most listings don't tell you. This is SoundPEATS' own lab data:

The trade-off worth knowing: the high-res codecs cost you battery. LDAC with ANC on gives about 3.5 hours, half what you get on AAC without ANC. That's not a fault — it's the price of the data rate. Use LDAC when you're sitting down with good recordings, drop to AAC for a long flight.

Good for — Android users who want both high-res codecs in one pair · anyone who wants balanced-armature detail without going wired · commuters who need serious noise cancelling · gamers, thanks to the 60ms mode.

Not for you if — you listen mainly on an iPhone and are buying these for LDAC or aptX Lossless, or you need all-day battery with ANC running. Our C30 gives longer ANC playtime at a lower price.

What it does

Connects to two devices — pair a phone and a laptop at once. It's off by default and enabled in the app. It can't run at the same time as LDAC — you choose one or the other.

Survives — IPX5 with nano-coating against rain and sweat. The charging case is not water resistant.
