SoundPEATS Air5 Pro+ — xMEMS Driver Earbuds with 55dB ANC & aptX Lossless

Most earbuds use a single dynamic driver. The Air5 Pro+ pairs a 10mm dynamic driver with an xMEMS solid-state micro speaker.

A semiconductor-based driver with roughly four times the response speed and a diaphragm around 95 times stiffer than a conventional one. The result is fast, low-distortion treble without the metallic edge that balanced armatures can introduce.

Before you buy — check your phone

LDAC and aptX Lossless are Android codecs. On an iPhone you won't get either — the Air5 Pro+ falls back to AAC. It still sounds excellent, but you'd be paying for capability iOS can't reach. If you're on iPhone, message us and we'll point you to better value.

One tradeoff worth knowing: turning LDAC on in the app disables game mode and the Adaptive EQ. You can switch back and forth any time, but you can't have all three at once.

Three reasons people choose this one

• xMEMS hybrid drivers. A 10mm dynamic driver for the low end paired with an xMEMS solid-state micro speaker for the treble — semiconductor technology rather than a moving coil, and the reason the highs stay clean at volume.
• Every high-resolution codec that matters. Built on the Qualcomm QCC3091 platform with an Aptos XAA-2000 Class-H amplifier. Supports aptX Lossless, aptX Adaptive, LDAC at up to 990kbps, LC3 and LE Audio, plus AAC and SBC. Certified Hi-Res Wireless. Frequency response 20Hz–40,000Hz.
• 55dB hybrid adaptive ANC. Adjusts the level of cancellation to your surroundings automatically, so you're not switching modes on and off through a commute. Transparency mode passes ambient sound through when you need to hear what's around you.

Battery — the honest figures

SoundPEATS rate these at 6 hours per charge in normal mode (SBC/AAC), 4 hours on LDAC and 3.5 hours with ANC on, for about 30 hours total with the case. Independent testing by Scarbir landed in the same range — between 3.5 and 6 hours depending on what you switch on, under 4 hours with AAC and ANC together, and closer to 3 hours on LDAC.

Plan on three to four hours if you run ANC or LDAC, and the full six for quiet listening without either. The case recharges the earbuds around four times, and a 10-minute charge gives roughly 2 hours.

If long battery life is your priority rather than driver technology, our Air5 Pro or C30 will serve you better. The Air5 Pro+ is built for sound quality first.

Is this the right pair for you?

Good for — people who care about treble detail and want to hear what xMEMS does · Android users with high-resolution libraries · anyone who wants ANC that adapts rather than needing to be switched.

Not for you if — you need all-day battery, or you listen mainly on an iPhone and are buying these for the codecs. The Air5 Pro gives you 7.5 hours per charge for less money.

What it does
